For those of you, who were not at the last meeting,,,,,,,our governor. Lion Maurice Turgeon was at the club for his official visit. He gave us some important info. About lions Int. and what’s happening around our district. I guess the most disturbing aspect of all,,,,,is the fact that we are losing so many members, and have been for many, many years. This started in the early 80’s and has not stopped, and is going on today. Having been there, a while back, I really know what he’s talking about, and I don’t envy his job at the present. It seems to be worse than a few years ago.

Here’s a bit of history……………DID YOU KNOW…………..

Why SUDBURY, Ont. Canada, survived the formative years of its existence to become a great metropolis, often has been asked. Sur rouned by a range of black, metallic hills, with stunted wood growth, and creeks habitually overflowing their banks, it provided the most impossible site for a growing city.

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT …..GO FIGURE …..

I got to tell you…..MinnowLakeLIONS  Lakeside Park sign is up and running.(picture included).  ALSO…..the basketball court is finished and the nets are in place. This part of it belongs to the city, and is not part of our project. It’s all tied in together. This concludes all the work that needed to be done for this year, and all is completed. It’s a wonder that we can accomplish anything at all at times, given all the red tape we must go through, and the people we have to work with. We have other projects for next spring, but we’ll work on that when the time comes.

On another subject…….before I forget…..the governor was presented a cheque from the club, for $500.00 to be presented the House of Kin, as part of his project on behalf of all clubs in district A-5

Picture included.

HERE’S A REAL STORY.

Police chief Clifton Sullivan----RussellSprings, KY.---got a call from a lady who wanted her bachelor neighbor arrested for indecent exposure. The chief went to her house and witnessed for himself……The fact was that the man next door was in his bathroom shaving .But, the chief said, with the bottom part of the man’s bathroom window covered as it is, I cannot tell if the bottom part of the man is wearing anything or not’.

BUT, the woman said, ‘Well, you just stand on this chair and stand on your tiptoes and you’ll see’…

Before I sign off, I need help. I need jokes…..information…..and anything you would like me  to put in the bulletin.

THAT;S ABOUT IT FOR THIS TIME. TAKE CARE…..AND WE’LL SEE YOU SOON.       LION Armand,

Just a thought……..club gave away xmas hampers at a cost of $45.00 each. Not cheap even  for 1978.

Electronic bingo was just coming in to being. We had to cut all the bingo cards and make them up. Some of us remember doing all of that.
