Jack Artrip/Jim Earls Memorial Apple Butter Day

On Saturday, November 7, twelve Barboursville Lions Club members showed up before daybreak to get set up to make apple butter.  We had a great time working together to produce 106 regular quarts of apple butter, 26 quarts of no-sugar-added apple butter, 89 pints of regular  and 24 pints of no-sugar-added.  Thanks to everyone who worked, including those not shown in the photo gallery.  They included Lion Scott Bias, Lion Larry Poynter,  Lion Steve Forman.

A special thanks to Lion Steve Nash for picking up the jars and apple sauce.  Lion Steve was up and on duty at 5:30 a.m.  He even beat me there.  Great job, Lion Steve!!!!!!!!!

Thanks also to Lion Betty for making breakfast and lunch.  We really enjoyed our sausage biscuits, sandwiches, pepperoni rolls, and brownies

Lion Charlie Astle came by twice.  On the second visit, he took a case (12 quarts) of apple butter to sell.

Check the PHOTO GALLERY to see pictures taken at this project.
