COURTICE LIONS CLUB was chartered on Sept. 3, 1997, and incorporated on Nov. 25, 2003. We were sponsored by the Bowmanville Lions Club.
Courtice (population 35,000) is part of The Municipality of Clarington (population 80,000), Ontario, Canada. It is located 50 km East of Toronto, on the North shore of Lake Ontario, along Highway 2 (King Street), between Oshawa to the West, and Bowmanville to the East. The Darlington Nuclear Plant is located in Courtice.
We have completed the second phase of the upgradeing to the Courtice Lions Millennium Trail, with the addition of a pedestrian bridge over the creek at the south end of the Trail. This project has been generously supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation with grants of $15,000 and $81,300.
