  What We Do

We collect used eyeglasses at the Manhattan Post Office, the Stone City VFW and at both branches of the First Bank of Manhattan.  Most recently, we also welcomed Absolute Vision Care to our collection sites with the installation of our newest member, Dr. James (Jim) Sowinski.  Welcome to the family Dr. Jim!

We fund a $1,000.00 college scholarship for a local High School senior.

We support the Manhattan Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts; the Manhattan Public Library; the Manhattan Neighborhood Food Pantry; Operation Care Package; French Youth Exchange; Manhattan Fun Days and Deicke Eye Care. 

We also sponsor the Lions Hearing Van; Candy Days; an annual blood drive; Leader Dogs for the Blind; the Manteno Veterans Home, and we provide eye exams for those in need.  Last but not least, we provide a service to the village by posting your events on The Manhattan Lions Community Bulletin Board.  ( If you need a community event posted on The Manhattan Lions Community Bulletin Board just stop in at the Manhattan Village Hall and ask those friendly ladies at the front counter for a request form for your event)
