The Springfield Host Lions Club is the second oldest club in Missouri.

This Club was started in September of 1921 at that time it was just the Springfield Lions Club. At its start the club focused on helping the needy children of Springfield. Since that time it has expanded to include the Lions mission of helping the Blind Community. Also in the early days of the Club we supplied the paperboys with gloves for the winter.

We currently host an annual Picnic and a Christmas Party for the Blind. We purchase eyeglasses for qualifying individuals who meet financial guidelines. We also collect used eye classes and used hearing aids for recycling.

Since its start the Springfield Host Lions Club has sponsered over eight clubs in Missouri.
